Marketing is about raising awareness for your business and generating new ENQUIRIES, getting customers to buy off you again (REPEAT BUSINESS) and staying ahead of your competition (COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE). Like all things in business, there are certain things you need to know and understand in order for things to work properly and effectively for you.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE is knowing what sets you apart from your competition. If you have no advantage then you are left competing on price, which is very frustrating. When you have an advantage then customers come to you for that point of difference and price becomes less of an issue, because you have something of value.

ENQUIRIES are the opportunities you have to make sales. The more opportunities you create the better and when those opportunities are the right ones for your business, even better still. The key job of marketing is to get new and existing customers enquiring about how you can help them.

REPEAT BUSINESS is all about making doing business easier. It is much easier to deal with a customer a second, third and fourth time, than it is the first time, because they get to know how you work and you get to know how they work. The key is to treat them so well they want to come back and keep reminding them about your business, so they never forget you.
